The Ohio Society of CPAs held a special luncheon celebrating the recipients of the Power of Change awards. Among the honorees were two of Meaden & Moore's Vice Presidents — Kelli A. Bernstein, CPA (2022 honoree) and Kendra Philon, CPA (2024 honoree), both in our Assurance Services Group.

This luncheon not only highlighted their exceptional contributions but also served as a reminder of the profound impact accounting professionals can have on the industry and their communities.

A Look Back at Our Honorees

Kelli Bernstein: 2022 Honoree
Kelli Bernstein, Vice President in the Assurance Services Group at Meaden & Moore, was honored at the Women, Wealth & Wellness Conference in 2022. Known for her dedication to mentoring young professionals and paving the way for women in public accounting, Kelli’s recognition was even more meaningful because her nomination came from her son, Joe.

Joe’s heartfelt submission highlighted Kelli’s efforts to support working mothers in the profession, her role on the Cleveland State University Accounting Advisory Board, and her tireless mentoring of future leaders in accounting.

Kelli’s over 27 years of experience, focus on quality control, and expertise in not-for-profit accounting make her a cornerstone of our firm.

Kendra Philon: 2024 Honoree
Recognized this year at the Women, Wealth & Wellness Conference, Kendra Philon, Vice President in our Assurance Services Group, was celebrated for her exceptional leadership and advocacy.

Nominated by James P. Carulas, CPA, CEO of Meaden & Moore, Kendra was praised for her work with the firm’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Group and her community efforts with the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women campaign. Her commitment to mentoring, professional development, and fostering inclusivity has had a lasting impact on both the firm and the broader community.

Kendra leads the not-for-profit practice at Meaden & Moore, leveraging over 20 years of experience to guide clients, mentor staff, and develop growth strategies.
