National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) – Akron Chapter 124, gathered at the Winery at Wolf Creek to have their monthly meeting on July 13th.
Jennifer Myers, Treasurer and Board member, hosted the event and Meaden & Moore sponsored drinks and dessert for the group. NAWIC’s Akron chapter was chartered in 1966 and is an association for women who work in the construction industry. The group meets monthly at various locations and hosts meetings dealing with women’s issues, construction site tours and networking opportunities to provide resources for members.
In addition to the benefits provided to the members, NAWIC funds annual scholarships to local college and trades and host a CAD drafting program at the high school level to encourage careers in the construction industry. Learn more about NAWIC here.
