On February 17th, the Friends of Breakthrough Public Schools held a Community Luncheon.
Keynote speaker Dr. Stephanie Siddens, Interim Superintendent of Public Instruction for the Ohio Department of Education, provided an interesting overview of the status of education in Ohio. Breakthrough Schools serves over 3,100 Cleveland students.
Jim Carulas, Chief Executive Officer at M&M, has served on the Friends of Breakthrough Schools board for many years and organized the firms’ sponsorship as a community partner. Joining Jim at the event was Lloyd Bell, Melissa Gallop, Kelli Bernstein, and Lynn Koster.
Friends of Breakthrough Schools is a non-profit development and advocacy organization. Friends of Breakthrough is responsible for closing the gap in public funding, as well as working with community, business, and political leaders to build city-wide support for high-quality public school options for all children in Cleveland.
